Ali Demir was born at the Darsiyak Village of the Kayseri Province in 1931. He has been painting in the professional sense since 1947. The paintings done by Ali Demir since 1968 depict spots from the Anatolia. The brown colour has been used intensively on his works. The said colour symbolizes the Anatolian soil and has always maintained its place on the canvas. The artist has arranged more than 100 exhibitions both at home and abroad and has won four different prizes. The artist comments that he has preferred to focus on the natural and social structure of his homeland to turn out paintings that would be labeled as “our painting”.
