Mustafa Ayaz
Mustafa Ayaz was born in Trabzon in 1938. He graduated from the Gazi University Department of Painting in 1963. In 1966 he started to work at the same Department as an assistant instructor. During 1985 – 87 he worked at the Hacettepe University Faculty of Fine Arts and eventually retired from the same school. Mustafa Ayaz received his Professor title in 1987 and during the same year moved over to Bilkent University Faculty of Fine Arts where he worked till 1988. Presently he lives in Ankara and continues his studies as a freelance artist.
The painter has arranged various personal exhibitions at home. He has also participated at various mixed and group exhibitions and biennials held in countries including India, Kuwait, Egypt, Romania, Bulgaria, Poland, Belgium, France, U.S.A., England, Algeria and Germany. More than 300 of his paintings are on inventories of international collections, while more than 3000 of his works have been collected from national collectors.
Regarding his painting activities he comments “Thinking and loving while I draw and paint just makes me happy. I paint to assign permanence and remembrance to events, feelings, enthusiasms and thoughts that I have experienced.”
