Tuncay Betil

Tuncay Betil was an artist who found out by experimenting that the discrimination of object from the symbol is the starting point of the visual arts. The rather mysterious force she carried inside her directed her towards achieving important works by moving her away from the mistakes and errors of the childhood and youth years.

She was an artist trying to turn her dreams into reality, always searching for the interesting, keeping her paintings in full colour while loosing her own colours, and having hopes perpetually on her agenda.

Her figures are simple and clear. The objects on her paintings turn into meaning, symbol and images. She believes that the art infect was born from magic. Tuncay was a personality who could not and would not get away from her own tragic and introverted reality. For her pain was a friend and she had preferred to melt down all her wishes inside herself.
